THE DESIGN HUB OPPORTUNITIES
Deadline for application - 10th
December.
Around 40-100 words in an email to
both Kamal Gohil (kgohil@pca.ac.uk) and
Stuart Williams (swilliams8@pca.ac.uk)
Describe why you think you should be considered for
the appropriate roles.
Plus, attach 1-3 relevant images to support the
role. (Or evidence of experience).
Interview date to be confirmed.
Important note:
You will need to be available every 2 weeks, late
Thursday pm for meetings (these are subject to change).
The Roles will create a structure and hierarchy of
responsibilities, which can be correctly credited to allow professional
involvement within The Design Hub, and this can be highlighted during/after
your time at Plymouth College of Art.
Including, the opportunity of involvement in other
areas/roles are also flexible, depending on what will be required at the time.
The roles…
EVENTS MANAGER
Working closely with the editor/copywriter, to
organize and oversee events. To plan and source visitors and workshops. To
investigate future fundings. Updating the blog/facebook/twitter accounts will
also form part of the role. Ideally you will be savvy, proactive and seeking
future work in this area. This is a very good opportunity for a proactive and
enthusiastic personality.
Good with communication skills.
EDITOR / COPY WRITER
Working closely with the Events Manager and Maddy
Pethick. Writing up events information, wording the blog, and print/digital
material. Similar role to above when required.
Good with communication skills and enthusiastic.
PHOTO DIRECTOR
Main photographer, working under Stuart and Kamal,
organizing the documentation of events. Organizing other photographers. Looking
after the quality of images, resizing, manipulating images for publication on
the blog/facebook/twitter/flickr/
PHOTOGRAPHER X2
Working under the main photographer. Ideally, a
photography hobbyist, wanting to build a portfolio/getting access to events.
Someone with proactive attitude, confident and
independent.
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS X2
Working closely with/responsible to the Senior
Designer, this application must be supported with work images as well. May
require to work alongside with other roles occasionally. Other roles will also
have design input.
WEB DEVELOPER / CODER X2
Working with the Graphic Designers and possibly the
App Designers on digital based media.
APP DEVELOPER (iPhone, Android,
iPad)
Working closely with the Web Developer.
MOTION DESIGNER
To be on standby when required.
What are we hoping to develop within The
Design Hub:
Possible Future plans – of independent
Publications, Website, Apps, Online outlet, Flyers, Posters, Networking,
Sourcing and pitching for live projects - paid work, Etc…
